How We Can Help
On-Campus Counselling Services
Academic Counselling / Advising
Counsellors provide guidance to plan program coursework, select electives, or deal with academic challenges. Students can explore options and gather information on how to become a more effective learner.
Stress and Problem Solving
When stress and pressure of school or life affect a student’s ability to cope with their program, counsellors provide short-term support to develop coping strategies, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Community referrals may be made. *Note: Not treatment/therapy/counselling for diagnosed mental illness (e.g. depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc.)
Career and Educational Planning
Through exploration and assessments, counsellors assist students with career decision-making and developing a personal educational plan.
Health Centre & Services
Our Health Services are available to staff and Enrolled Students on a limited basis through virtual consultations with our Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners. They will be able to answer your health care questions, guide you through the healthcare system, and help you to manage your health care needs. This includes health care needs not related to COVID-19.
All St. Clair College students are welcome to use the Health Centres for their primary or emergent health care needs. We are dedicated to providing quality health care that focuses on you and your needs. We believe that your success at St. Clair College depends on you maintaining a healthy mind and body. That’s why we’ve made health care services on campus convenient and easy to access.
Medical professionals are here to provide first aid and primary health care services to all staff and students. You will be treated in a caring, supportive and non-judgmental manner in a private setting where confidentiality is always respected.
